Why does the sea moan evermore?
Shut out from heaven it makes its moan,
It frets against the boundary shore;
All earth's full rivers cannot fill The sea,
that drinking thirsteth still.
Sheer miracles of loveliness
Lie hid in its unlooked-on bed:
Anemones, salt, passionless,
Blow flower-like; just enough alive
To blow and multiply and thrive.
Shells quaint with curve, or spot, or spike,
Encrusted live things argus-eyed,
All fair alike,
yet all unlike,
Are born without a pang,
and die
Without a pang,
and so pass by.

HEALTH BENEFITS OF SALT WATER
We all know that eating too much salt can pickle our innards - or lead us to high blood pressure.
But what about inhaling a little salt water to keep asthma away?

FISH LIPS?
ONCE I HEARD A KID ON THE SCHOOLYARD TELL ANOTHER KID THAT HE HAD FISH LIPS! THIS FISH SURE SEEMS TO HAVE THEM!

KILLER SHRIMP KILLING OFF OTHER SHRIMP IN BRITISH WATERS!
"It tends to aggressively pursue its prey, often leaving it dead but uneaten. It is known to have caused the extinction of several other species in other areas," the EPOCH TIMES reported.
Not only is it bully, it has few predators in this new habitat."
SIREN HERE: We're used to creatures eating other creatures because they gotta eat! But these shrimp kill and leave the dead uneaten! Yikes!

MASS EXTINCTION OF LIFE ON EARTH BEFORE - AND AGAIN?

Will it happen again in our lifetime?

A few go so far as to say we are entering a new geologic epoch, leaving the 10,000-year-old Holocene Epoch behind and entering the ANTHROPOCENE EPOCH, marked by major changes to global temperatures and ocean chemistry, increased sediment erosion, and changes in biology that range from altered flowering times to shifts in migration patterns of birds and mammals and potential die-offs of tiny organisms that support the entire marine food chain."

WIRED SCIENCE reports on MASSIVE ICE BREAK OFF GREENLAND
"100-square-mile block of ice 600 feet thick has calved off one of the largest ocean-bordering glaciers in Greenland. The Arctic hasn’t lost a chunk of ice that large since 1962."

I LOOKED AND THE WATER WAS ALL GONE!
I went to the public park closest to me the other day, and was shocked to see the pool, which had been so full of water the day before, completely drained. Due to budget cuts, the pool was only open for 6 weeks and in the afternoons for the summer. Still, there was a heat wave of 100 degree or more temperatures last week and you would have thought that every kid in the area who didn't have an apartment pool would be using it.
Guess I'll have to keep going to the heated pool at my closest YMCA instead! Siren
