DEAD SEA SINK HOLES SUCKING TOURISTS!

I like my "headline better than theirs..." Here the breaking news from Joseph Marks of the Seattle Times...

"These underground craters can open up in an instant, sucking in whatever lies above and leaving the surrounding area looking like an earthquake zone.

The phenomenon, Raz said, stems from a dire water shortage, compounded in recent years by tourism and chemical industries as well as a growing population. "This is the most remarkable evidence of the brutal interference of humans in the Dead Sea," he said.

The parched moonscape, famous as the site of biblical Sodom and Gomorra, is the lowest point on earth and runs more than 60 miles through Israel and the West Bank."

VANITY FAIR TUBULAR GIRLS SPOTLIGHTS WOMEN ATHLETES - SURFERS

No longer Gidget stereotypes (though for the photo spread only two have more on that a bikini, featured are Sierra Partridge, Sofia Mulanovich, Leila Hurst, Alana Blachard, Malia Manuel, Sally Fitzgibbons, Coco Ho, Laura Enever, Sage Erickson, Quincy Davis, Courtnay Conlogue, and Hailey Partridge.

We're so happy that women in surfing are finally getting profiles, endorsements, and prizes, a little closer to the rewards men surfers do!

POOL SEASON IS HERE !

When I was growing up, having a swimming pool set up in your backyard for the summer was a very big deal! (We went to public pools too!)

Getting used to the cold water was always an art. Showering or running through the lawn sprinkler first seemed to keep the shock of jumping in to a minimum. I t seemed that every inch of submersion of one's torso was an ordeal!
