THE MONACO DECLARATION

In January 2009. HSH Prince Albert II wanted to draw the attention of decision-makers to the acidificiation of the oceans, the other crisis emerging from CO2 emissions together with climate change, with the two effect working together to upset the balance of the oceans.  He supported an initiative from over 150 major names in marine science, from 26 countries, to sound the alarm via the "Monaco Declaration."

So many Europeans speak English with an English accent, but Albert II grew up with an American mother, and I suppose that is why he speaks in a flawless American English. Located on the Mediterranian Sea, Albert's foundation is one of the entities behind Musee Institute Oceanographique.  Loations in Monaco and in Paris, this blog cannot go without mentioning these!

Excerpt: As head of state, Prince Albert II of Monaco, son of Prince Rainier III and Hollywood actress Grace Kelly, has made ocean research and conservation a priority through his government and his private foundation, the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation.  Since 2006, the foundation has supported some 530 projects around the world, at a cost of 62 million euros ($68 million), to address climate change, biodiversity and the protection of endangered species, and water resource management.
