EAST PACIFIC CORAL AND WEST PACIFIC CORAL - EVIDENCE OF ISOLATION!

DAILY MAIL - CORAL REEF ISOLATED FROM REST OF OCEAN

CORAL SPREAD - BUT CAN'T MAKE IT ALL THE WAY ACROSS THE PACIFIC.

EXCERPT:
But researchers have now used simulations of the ocean currents over a 14 year period to calculate how coral larvae in Pacific Ocean can spread.
They found coral larvae from the central Pacific could not survive long enough to make the 3,100 mile journey to the east.
Even during the record-breaking El Nino of 1998, which radically altered the speed and direction of ocean currents, the journey would have taken too long for the larvae.
